It's also worth noting that, for minor countries, the DLC enabled national focus trees tend to be weaker than the base one you get in the vanilla game. Don't expect that kind of thing to be terribly easy. The people who take over Germany as luxembourg and stuff like that mostly relied on exploits, which are increasingly rare as they get patched out. It means your best bet is usually to support your AI allies rather than trying to do anything on your own, which can be frustrating because you're then stuck reacting to the AI. If you play as New Zealand, for example, you will spend most of the game building either a small fleet, army or airforce but won't be able to do any more than that. Simply put, the more powerful the country you are playing, the more you're going to be able to do and the more impact you will have on the course of the game. Several countries in Eastern Europe will be receiving overhauled focus trees, including Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and the Soviet Union. Paradox has made it clear it will be emphasizing the eastern front in this DLC.

Yes it is a nice thing to have if you can get it but with overhaul mods they will mean nothing and you might spend most of your later games with mods that overhaul everything. I only played a small amount of the minor factions with the DLC in Multiplayer. Would I be missing out if I didn't get the DLC and don't get the new things called ''focus trees'' for Minor Factions? From the looks of it Minor Factions look way more fun to play imo, instead of a major one. Play different, unique nations and study complex strategies to develop the best empire. Enjoy completely new and extensive national goals trees and special events. Man the Guns also introduces new alternate history paths for the major. Embrace or circumvent naval treaties and deal with the diplomatic consequences. Alter your convoy routes to avoid hungry wolf packs. Design your own ships and refit older models. I played without DLC for over 100 hundred hours before buying the first 2 when on sale. Buy Hearts of Iron IV: Death or Dishonor to discover new excellent DLC content for four Central and Eastern European countries: Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia.
